Hollywood & Highland complex set to open

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Hollywood & Highland, hailed as the cornerstone of the revitalization of Hollywood, is scheduled to open Nov. 8.

The $600 million entertainment and retail complex houses the Kodak Theatre, the new home of the Academy Awards ceremonies. There also are TV broadcast facilities, studio venues, restaurants and 70 retailers.

Developers expect 20 million visitors to visit the center, which is named for the Hollywood intersection where it is located.

The complex, which wraps around the newly expanded Chinese Theatre and borders the Hollywood Walk of Fame, will include a 640-room Marriott-managed Renaissance Hotel, scheduled to open in mid-December.
