KAANAPALI, Hawaii -- Host Marriott Corp. will acquire the 806-room
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa along Kaanapali Beach on Maui for
$321 million, to be paid in part with proceeds from Host Marriott's
recent equity issuance.
The purchase is expected to close by the end of the year.
The recently renovated, 23-year-old hotel features 25,000 square
feet of indoor meetings' and banquet space and more than 100,000
square feet of outdoor function space. In addition, Spa Moana, the
hotel's full-service oceanfront spa, was recently expanded to 9,000
square feet and contains 11 treatment rooms, a beauty salon, a
relaxation lounge and sauna and steam rooms.
The property is located near historic Lahaina town on Maui.
