Hotel Monaco gets in the holiday spirit

NEW ORLEANS -- The Hotel Monaco New Orleans is the new kid on the block.

The boutique property made its debut in August and is gearing up for the holiday season.

Its Cajun Christmas and Naughty or Nice packages coincide with the Christmas New Orleans Style celebration that takes place each year.

Both plans are valid from Dec. 4 to 29.

The Cajun plan features accommodations in a deluxe guest room; two tickets to Celebration in the Oaks, a light show in City Park; a New Orleans-style jester's hat; Mardi Gras beads, and a wine tasting in the lobby.

The price is $129 per night, single or double.

The Naughty or Nice getaway covers accommodations in a deluxe guest room, a Santa hat and either a "naughty" or "nice" in-room movie complete with cookies and milk.

The nightly rate is $99, single or double.

The 250-room property is located in a former Masonic Temple on St. Charles Avenue.

There are 22 suites and 18 "tall rooms" with nine-foot, king-size beds and heightened showerheads.

Room amenities include two-line phones, high-speed Internet access, a television and a stereo CD player.

Rack rates range from $135 to $295 for deluxe guest rooms.

The range for suites is $350 to $495.
