NEW YORK -- Hotres.com, the hotel reservations Web site that sells this city's hotels exclusively, more than tripled its hotel inventory this year, according to Kerrin Behrend, Hotres.com president.

The Web site, which debuted in the spring of 1999 with approximately 30 New York hotels, this year added 60 hotels for a total inventory of more than 90 properties, he said.

With its new inventory, Hotres also has grown beyond midtown Manhattan to the city's airport hotels and several lodgings in downtown Manhattan.

"Originally, we focused on the midtown area as a way to establish ourselves," said Behrend.

"Now, we are offering our customers an expanded service that includes hotels all over Manhattan as well as the three New York airports." he added. "With these expansions we are trying to meet all of our customers' New York hotel needs."

Among Hotres' new downtown Manhattan properties are the Beacon, Holiday Inn Wall Street, Marriott Financial Center, Marriott World Trade Center, Millennium Hilton and Washington Square hotels.

New Midtown properties include the Algonquin, Barclay, Grand Hyatt, Hotel Pennsylvania, Marriott Marquis, Milford Plaza, Novotel, Ramada New Yorker, Sheraton New York and Waldorf-Astoria.

Hotres also added several boutique hotels in the midtown area, including the Gorham, Mayflower, Morgans and Royalton hotels.

The company advertises that its reservations are confirmed against a guaranteed block of rooms.

In addition to information about discounts, the site offers detailed hotel descriptions and site maps.
