DORADO, Puerto Rico -- The 298-room Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort and
Country Club, 20 miles west of San Juan, is constructing three
guest room buildings scheduled for completion in November.
The Su Casa Cottages are designed to reflect the style Laurance
Rockefeller created when he opened the resort in 1958.
Michael Walsh, general manager, said the addition "will blend
seamlessly into the landscape."
The new hacienda-style buildings are located on Rockefeller
Point, a block of land that overlooks the Atlantic.
Decor will feature dark woods, terra-cotta tiled floors, a
pedestal bed, Spanish accents and original artwork.
Each unit will have a sleeping area and separate living space,
balcony or patio, skylights in second-floor rooms and dual-sink
bathrooms with tiled showers.
