NEW YORK -- "Exotic Turkey: Lifting the Veil" is IST Cultural
Tours' newest fun-and-learning package, designed to take visitors
behind the scenes of an exotic destination.
Scheduled for departures on Sept. 6 and Oct. 25, the 15-night
IST program focuses on sites and experiences an ordinary traveler
might miss, such as visiting an ancient inn on the Silk Road,
having dinner in a Dervish monastery and enjoying a picnic with
local musicians in the rock valleys of Cappadocia.
Authoritative insights into the intricacies of Turkish life, art
and politics are provided along the way by such experts as Rashid
Ergener, a Turkish professor of economics, who also is a poet.
The itinerary, which starts in Istanbul, includes trips to
Ephesus, with some of the world's best-preserved Greco-Roman ruins,
and to Cappadocia, a region of strange landscapes of lava carved
into homes and churches.
Land-only prices start at $2,695 per person, double.
The price covers first class accommodations and most meals, as
well as all lectures and guidance by IST specialists.
