Iberostar begins work on third Riviera property

RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico -- Iberostar Hotels & Resorts broke ground on its third inclusive Riviera Maya property -- Iberostar Paraiso Lindo. Situated adjacent to its other two area resorts -- Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and Iberostar Paraiso Beach -- the new hotel will have 446 regular rooms, 62 junior suites and two presidential suites when it opens for the 2002-2003 winter season.

Combined, the three hotels will have more than 1,250 rooms. The new property also will feature the Riviera Maya's first conference center. The center, which will accommodate up to 1,000 people, will have its own catering facility.

The resort also will offer a wedding pavilion, a pool, a theater and a disco. For dining, there will be six a la carte restaurants and one eatery serving meals buffet-style. Elsewhere in Mexico, Iberostar operates the Iberostar Cozumel and the Iberostar Tucan and Iberostar Quetza, both in Playa del Carmen.
