ATLANTA -- Jameson Inns here, owner of Jameson Inn and Signature
Inn hotels, will break ground on a 68-room Jameson Inn in Lakeland,
Fla., later this summer.
When it opens during 2000, the property will have a pool and
fitness center; two- and three-room suites; premium rooms with
microwave, refrigerator and recliner; computer-compatible phone
jacks; free local calls; free USA Today newspapers, and corporate
and senior citizen rates.
A continental breakfast will be included in the rates. Bookings
for Lakeland are not yet being accepted. The Lakeland land
development will be one of five properties the company has under
construction in Florida.
It will be on Lakeland Park Drive off I-4 at exit 19, about 50
miles southwest of Walt Disney World in Orlando. The new
three-story colonial-style inns with interior corridors are
designed to appeal to the price- and quality-conscious business
traveler during the week and family travelers on weekends.
