Royal Island Partners has acquired a 50% stake in Rock House, a nine-room hideaway on Harbour Island in the Bahamas that caters to celebrities and other guests seeking privacy, for $7.5 million.
Royal Island Partners, an affiliate of Dallas-based Staubach Co., is developing a 430-acre private island resort and residential community 30 minutes from Nassau by water taxi. Royal Island Partners envisions that Rock House will serve as a launch point for Royal Island as well as a beach head for potential investors.
Rock House guests will have access to Royal Island's spa, beach club and restaurants, and receive playing privileges on the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course and tennis courts. Royal Island investors and guests also will have Rock House services and amenities available to them on day trips to Harbour Island.
J. Wallace Tutt III and Don Purdy, who own the other 50% of Rock House, will continue to manage the hotel.
Amenities at Rock House include a poolside martini bar, heated pool, complimentary resort-wide Wi-Fi and water sports.
