LAS VEGAS -- There is someone on duty at Showtime Tours every day
from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. -- even on Sundays and holidays. Need a
wake-up call at your hotel? Showtime will take care of it.
"We pick up at practically every hotel, and unlike some tours,
we never cancel unless the weather is bad," said a spokesman for
the firm. That reputation is a major reason Mark Travel Corp.
recently acquired the Las Vegas-based company that specializes in
sightseeing tours to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam,
Lake Mead and Laughlin.
Showtime Tours, the second-largest sightseeing company in Las
Vegas, is now part of Nevada Coaches, a separately operated
subsidiary of Mark Travel. Barry Perea, president of Nevada
Coaches, will oversee day-to-day operations.
"Showtime Tours' great reputation is the reason we wanted to add
it to our motorcoach operation," Perea said. He said many
prestigious hotels and casinos here recommend the tour company.
In addition to its bus tours, Showtime Tours offers a Jet Ski
Tour, Hummer Adventure Tour and the Big One, a combination Jet
Ski-Hummer adventure. The tour company uses state- of-the-art
luxury motorcoaches for its extended tours.
Mark Travel, one of the largest vacation companies in the U.S.,
is headquartered in Milwaukee. It was founded in 1974 and employs
more than 2,400 people in 17 offices worldwide.
