JetBlue plans to up winter departures to Florida

NEW YORK -- JetBlue plans to add up to 19 flights from New York (Kennedy) to five Florida cities this winter, expanding the airline's schedule to as many as 42 daily departures vs. a peak of 30 last winter.

Florida destinations are: Fort Lauderdale, up to 16 daily departures; Orlando, nine; WestPalm Beach, eight; Tampa, five; and Fort Myers, four.

JetBlue's regular fares between Kennedy and all five cities range from the 14-day advance purchase of $84 each way to a walk up fare of $229 each way. Roundtrip travel and Saturday night stays are not required to get these fares.

At present travel through April 30 can be booked.

Fares will be discounted by $5 each way if booked by Aug. 31 over the Web site, www.jetblue.com.
