WASHINGTON -- Karen Jordan announced her resignation as
president and chief executive officer of the International
Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus. Jordan, who said
the decision was personal said, "It became to difficult to carry on
a 1,200-mile relationship." Jordan lives in Austin, Texas.
Charles Ahlers, IACVB secretary and president of the
Anaheim/Orange County Visitors & Convention Bureaus, will head
a search committee to find Jordan's successor. Jordan, who served
11 months, said she will stay on until a successor is named.
"Obviously, we are very disappointed with the turn of events,"
said David Radcliffe, IACVB chairman. "But we respect and
understand Karen's decision."
