Jordan Resigns as Head of IACVB

WASHINGTON -- Karen Jordan announced her resignation as president and chief executive officer of the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus. Jordan, who said the decision was personal said, "It became to difficult to carry on a 1,200-mile relationship." Jordan lives in Austin, Texas.

Charles Ahlers, IACVB secretary and president of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitors & Convention Bureaus, will head a search committee to find Jordan's successor. Jordan, who served 11 months, said she will stay on until a successor is named.

"Obviously, we are very disappointed with the turn of events," said David Radcliffe, IACVB chairman. "But we respect and understand Karen's decision."
