KAPALUA -- The Kapalua Bay Hotel in Maui is extending its family
summer programs through Sept. 30 to accommodate parents traveling
with their children. Both free and discounted activities can be
found on property.
Children ages 5 to 16 enrolled in the Kapalua Keiki Club program
have free use of the hotel's golf facilities, tennis courts and
snorkeling equipment. They also receive free tours of the active
pineapple plantation that surrounds the hotel.
Crafts classes will also keep the youngsters busy with
activities like lei making and ceramic painting.
Two complimentary, one-hour golf clinics are offered each week
for children of all ages at the Kapalua Golf Academy, and kids can
then join parents on the Village Course from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

discounts on racquets and shoes are available. The courts are
lighted for evening play.
Kids under age 12 eat at the breakfast buffet for free when
accompanied by a paying adult, and an offer of 50% off on an
adjoining room is extended to those who pay rack rates (beginning
at $390 per night).
The Keiki Day Program is offered at 15% off to guests paying the
rack rate and is aimed at children ages 5 to 10.
The program, located at the Art School at Kapalua, encourages
children to translate their impressions of the beauty of Hawaii
into works of art.
Activities include arts and crafts lessons, yoga, nature walks
and water sports. The program costs $60 per day per child; 24-hour
advance reservation is mandatory.
Teens ages 11 through 16 can take part in the Adventure Seven
Program (also for $60 per day, per child).
Ocean safety classes begin the day, followed by options that
include horseback riding, beach activities, surf lessons, kayaking
