Key West honors Cuban heritage

KEY WEST, Fla. -- Once the cigar-making capital of the world, Key West is to celebrate its Cuban heritage Nov. 1 to 5 during the second annual Cuban-American Heritage Festival.

Highlights of the family-oriented event include:

  • A coast-to-coast conga line down Duval Street from the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico
  • A fishing tournament
  • A street fiesta
  • Guided tours of the Key West Cuban Heritage Trail
  • Performances by Latin bands and musicians
  • A symposium at the San Carlos Institute
