King David, Dan Tel Aviv join Utell voice-res service

NEW YORK -- Two of Israel's finest domestic hotels are now on the voice reservation service of Utell International.

The two hotels -- the King David in Jerusalem and the Dan Tel Aviv -- are Leading Hotels of the World properties and can be booked either through that reservations system, the Internet or as a Utell voice entry, according to Dan Hotels Corp.'s Israel hotel representatives here.

The Dan Tel Aviv, facing the Mediterranean. The deluxe King David, flagship of the Dan chain and in the heart of new Jerusalem overlooking the Old City, has a long history of hosting visiting dignitaries from around the world.

Recently redecorated and refurnished, it offers 327 guest rooms and luxury suites plus restaurants, bars, banquet facilities for up to 400 people, lavish gardens and an outdoor swimming pool.

The 286-room Dan Tel Aviv, which was the venue for the victory press conference after the recent election of Ehud Barak as prime minister, has 84 deluxe rooms with a view of the Mediterranean and 32 luxury suites.

Although on the shoreline, it is located in central Tel Aviv near the country's financial, shopping and entertainment hubs.

The property has several lounges, indoor and outdoor pools, banquet and conference halls and a restaurant. In addition, the Dan Hotels of Israel has Panorama properties, featuring an added focus on corporate facilities, in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv as well as in Haifa

The group's primary property in Haifa, the Dan Carmel, dominates the mountain peak of that city and offers views of the entire Galilee.

The chain's third Jerusalem property is the Dan Pearl all-suite hotel, located down the street from the King David and in view of the Old City's Jaffa Gate.

Dan also has a hotel in Caesarea, with the country's only 18-hole golf course; one on the Mediterranean in Herzliyya, and a posh resort on the Red Sea in Eilat.

The chain has a total of 2,600 rooms in 10 properties around the country.
