LVCVA campaign eyes Portland, Atlanta

LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has targeted Portland, Ore., and Atlanta as emerging domestic markets and planned marketing campaigns for both cities through June.

"Both Portland and Atlanta have a strong potential customer base and available airline flights to Las Vegas," said Rossi Ralenkotter, LVCVA's vice president of marketing.

Elements of the campaign include the Las Vegas Ultra-Lounge Extravaganza mobile marketing vehicle, which will make daily stops at sporting events, shopping malls, nightclubs and other high-visibility venues. At each stop, an Elvis impersonator and showgirls will perform, and there will be games, giveaways and chances to win trips to Las Vegas.

A Web site for the Ultra-Lounge Extravaganza tour has been established at In addition, LVCVA will conduct training seminars for agents and an event for meeting planners.
