Line to award 'Treasures' through booking contest

LOS ANGELES -- Crystal Cruises launched a "Crystal Treasures" booking contest that will award free cruises with penthouse accommodations to the three agents that generate the most bookings on the line's seven 2002 Orient and Pacific cruises.

Through Dec. 31, all new bookings on the designated sailings will count toward the agency's total sales volume.

"This is the first time we've given away three free cruises in penthouse accommodations in any contest," said David R. Morris, the line's senior vice president of sales. "There's no other way for agents to sail in a Crystal penthouse other than paying full fare."

Morris added that this incentive creates "a tremendous opportunity for agents to sell these cruises, as we haven't been to the Orient in more than three years."

The eligible cruises, part of Crystal Harmony's prime-season series, include China, Japan and South Pacific.

Itineraries include Passage to Paradise, sailing from March 24 to April 3; Seashells & Shoguns, April 3 to 17; Mysteries of the Orient, April 17 to May 1; Ancient Dynasties, April 25 to May 10; Kingdoms of Jade & Gold, May 10 to 25, and Northern Circle, June 3 to 14.

The free cruise on the Crystal Harmony will be awarded on a space availability basis and can be transferred to an alternate 2002 sailing.

The Treasures contest is open to all Iatan agents. Rebooked cancellations will not qualify.
