VIRGIN GORDA, British Virgin Islands -- The time spent transferring
from the airport to the resort can be a source of aggravation for
clients, especially if the drive to the resort is long and tempers
short after a day of traveling.
Rosewood's Little Dix Bay resort here solved this problem in two
ways: its 48-foot Sunseeker yacht transports guests from St.
Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to its private wharf on Virgin Gorda
here in under an hour, and its water-taxi ferry makes the crossing
from Tortola to Virgin Gorda in even less time.
The Sunseeker, which went into service in January, carries up to
eight passengers and offers one roundtrip Mondays through Fridays
and twice a day on weekends.
"Our guests like it because it alleviates the need for a plane
