Los Cabos resort overlooks whale migration paths

LOS CABOS, Mexico -- During the months of December through March, whales migrate to and from the warm waters of Mexico where their calves are born.

Directly along their path is Las Ventanas al Paraiso resort here.

Las Ventanas is offering a new amenity to help guests enjoy the spectacle of the whales migration as they pass directly in front of the resort: Minolta EZ 10X50 binoculars will be hanging on wrought-iron stands along the resort's seawall.

The resort's staff surveys the water in search of whales. When they are spotted, guests are alerted by the blowing of a conch shell.

The property is located at the tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula. It features 61 suites, a championship golf course and spa facilities.
