MIAMI -- Seabourn Cruise Line is returning to Alaska next summer.

The luxury cruise operator said it will reposition its 208-passenger Seabourn Spirit from Southeast Asia to Alaska, where it will start sailing in May. Seabourn has not operated in Alaska since 1997, and the cruise line said its return to the state was prompted by customer demand. The ship will return to Asia following the Alaska summer season.

Seabourn is returning to Alaska for the first time since 1997. The company will reposition its 208-passenger Seabourn Spirit from Southeast Asia to Alaska, where it will start sailing in May. The 11-day Alaskan Vistas itineraries add the village of Alert Bay in British Columbia. Early-booking discounts put starting prices for these cruises at $4,379 per person, double. A professional naturalist will accompany each Seabourn Spirit cruise.
