LAS VEGAS -- Just weeks after performer Roy Horn of the famed
"Siegfried & Roy" duo was mauled onstage at the Mirage by one
of the act's signature white tigers, MGM-Mirage senior vice
president Alan Feldman acknowledged that there was "not any
possibility" of the pair returning to their stage.
The MGM-Mirage management will need "a long time to try to
figure out" what to do with the space that was the 1,504-seat
Siegfried & Roy Theatre, he said.
The stage was custom-built for the show and isn't suitable for
any other act.
Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn signed a lifetime contract
with the Mirage in 2001 and racked up more than 5,700 performances
of their show since they opened at the resort in 1990.
