Maison Orleans cuts its rates

NEW ORLEANS -- The Maison Orleans is looking to woo clients with a reduced rate.

Following the Sept. 11 attacks, the luxury hotel dropped its room rate from $385 to $315 per night, single or double.

The offer is valid through the end of the year.

The 75-room hotel, managed by Ritz-Carlton, made its debut in May in the restored Maison Blanche building on Canal Street.

The Maison Orleans is adjacent to the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans.Catering to an upmarket clientele, the property offers the services of a butler who will pack and unpack luggage and make reservations, among other tasks.

Guest rooms are equipped with CD/DVD players, and a selection of videos and music can be found at the front desk.

Additional guest features are around-the-clock room service, data port and multiline cordless telephones and a beverage armoire with food and beverage selections.

Rooms also boast bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate showers, floor-to-ceiling windows and a Louis XVI-style desk.

The Maison Orleans' premier room is its grand suite, which offers a second bedroom and bathroom, as well as a parlor and balcony.

Hotel guests have access to the facilities at the adjacent Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, including its spa and fitness center and restaurants.
