LAS VEGAS -- Mandalay Bay, already in the midst of expanding its
convention center by 1.8 million square feet and adding a
1,150-suite hotel tower, is planning to bring a new shopping venue
to the southern part of the Strip.
Mandalay Place, to be constructed as a skybridge connecting the
casino levels of Mandalay Bay and the Luxor, will serve as home to
33 high-end stores and restaurants.
Luxury retailers Louis Vuitton and Fendi already have signed
letters of intent to open locations in the center, which is
projected to be completed in the fall of 2003.
Mandalay Bay officials said Mandalay Place will be the first
retail center directly attached to two major casinos.
