More planes heading for Caribbean

NEW YORK -- Look for continued expansion to the Caribbean from Air Jamaica and American Airlines this spring.

Effective June 20, the carrier will offer nonstop daily service to Kingston, Jamaica (up from five times a week), from its New York (Kennedy) gateway.

On the same date, the carrier will reintroduce thrice-weekly nonstop service from Kennedy to Antigua, go to four flights a week on its Grenada nonstop run, and up its nonstop Barbados service to daily.

On the American front, the carrier must be pleased with its loads to the Turks & Caicos. For the third time in three months, the carrier announced an expansion of service.

The latest takes effect June 15 when the carrier launches weekly nonstop service between Boston and Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.

The Boston route will supplement American's three daily flights from Miami and four weekly flights from New York's Kennedy.
