Museum opens Linda McCartney exhibit

RENO, Nev. -- The Nevada Museum of Art is opening an exhibition Nov. 15 of Linda McCartney's photography of rock icons.

Running through Jan. 5, "Linda McCartney's Sixties: Portrait of an Era" features 51 color and black-and-white photographs of performers including Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison and The Beatles.

The exhibit will be presented at NMA Underground, the temporary site of the Nevada Museum of Art during the construction of a new museum site expected to open next spring. NMA Underground is located inside the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Reno.

Docent-guided tours of the exhibit begin at 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and are free with admission ($5 for adults, $3 for seniors). Reservations are not needed. Self-guided tours are available during normal operating hours. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. and closed on Mondays and national holidays.
