Museums of the Last Frontier

ANCHORAGE -- The tale of Alaska can be traced throughout the state in dozens of museums and cultural centers.

They range from the popular and well-publicized (the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward and the new Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage) to the lesser known, (the K'Beq: Kenaitze Indian Tribe facility in Kenai and the Alaska State Trooper Museum in Anchorage).

Dozens of museums recall the days of Alaska's gold rush as well as the state's industry, modern development and Indian cultures. Some of the facilities require payment of entrance fees; others are free.
