Narrated six-hour day cruises explore Kenai Fjords

SEWARD -- Free entry to the Alaska SeaLife Center, the use of binoculars and the services of a field guide, as well as miles in the Alaska Airlines frequent flyer program, are among the features of the Kenai Fjords National Park narrated day cruises of Allen Marine Tours.

The company operates a catamaran, the St. Phillip, daily out of Seward in six-hour voyages in the waters of the fjords.

So confident is Allen Marine in the wildlife viewing possibilities in the area that it will refund $50 to adults and $15 to children ages 3 to 12 if they do not see a whale, a seal, a sea lion or a seal while on board. The tour is priced at $99 for adults and $36 for children; kids under the age of 2 travel free.

The tour, known as the Wildlife Quest, includes a deli lunch at sea and complimentary hot and cold beverages. The cruise leaves Seward at 11:30 a.m. daily through the summer and returns at 5:30 p.m., giving passengers plenty of time to use their free SeaLife Center tickets.

A bonus of 500 Alaska Airlines miles is offered for those booking two cruises together. Allen Marine began operating in Kenai Fjords last year, using the only catamaran in that market. The cruise will operate between May 1 and Sept. 15. Allen Marine, Phone: (888) 305-2515
