St. Tropez icon revamps
The Chateau de la Messardiere, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World in St. Tropez, France, reopened April 3 with a new, 4,850-square-foot spa; a fully restyled, heated swimming pool; and redesigned guestrooms. Rooms situated inside two towers near the pool now feature modern but Moorish-inspired decor, with flagstones and enameled lava bathrooms.
The hotel, perched amid 25 acres of hilltop pine forest and gardens, is offering new three- or six-night packages. For example, this year's spring spa package, including six nights in a superior double room, six "fitness" breakfasts, a half-hour daily massage and daily beauty treatment, is priced from about $1,760.
