New res system pays commissions on St. Lucia bookings

CASTRIES, St. Lucia -- Agents can tap into a new source of commissions when booking clients to St. Lucia.

St. Lucia's Hotel and Tourism Association recently named Resort Reservations Network, a destination-focused, online booking engine, as the official central reservations system for the island.

Eric Austin, vice president of sales and marketing for the Vancouver-based company, said the Web site includes information on packages, activities and events taking place on St. Lucia.

"A special section for agents gives them access to air and hotel availability and enables them to book their clients right at the site," Austin said.

Commissions vary, depending on the product booked.

Web information includes air fares from U.S. gateways to St. Lucia and information, rates and descriptions for hotels, inns, villas and inclusive resorts.

Festivals, events, shopping, dining, weather and virtual tours that preview St. Lucia also are featured.

Agents and consumers can also access a toll-free number for additional information.

Resort Reservations Network operates similar online programs for other destinations and will add 10 more in 2002, including Barbados.

For details, visit the Web site at or call (888) 600-2688.
