PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos -- The first phase of Ocean Club
West will open here Dec. 20. The 90-room Ocean Club West is the
sister property to the 86-room Ocean Club, also on Provo.
Making their debut will be 35 suites, the Seaside Cafe and a
free-form pool, according to general manager Tom Lewis.
Lewis said an additional 33 suites will come on line in the
first two months of the new year. The remaining units should be
available by the summer.
He said Ocean Club's clientele is made up of couples and
families who are drawn to its all-suite product.
There are five categories of rooms available at Ocean Club West
-- studios, junior suites and one-, two- and three-bedroom suites.
With the exception of the studios, all of the units have a full
kitchen (stove, oven and microwave); a washer and dryer, and
pull-out, queen-size sofa beds. The studios have a kitchenette.
Lewis said all of the suites "have everything you want, right down
to the teaspoon."
The suites have screened-in balconies with bamboo furniture, and
Lewis describes the room decor as tropical, with fabrics and colors
The beachfront resort will also have a fitness center and tennis
courts. Its Seaside Cafe will be an open-air restaurant serving
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Guests staying at Ocean Club West will have access to Ocean
Club's facilities, and vice versa.
He said complimentary shuttle service will operate between both
properties, which are about a three-minute drive apart.
On site at Ocean Club is Ocean Plaza, which has a boutique, a
convenience store and a car rental outlet.
To celebrate the opening, Ocean Club West is offering a 20%
discount from Dec. 20 to March 31. The discount cuts rates between
$59 and $259 per night, depending on room category. Through Jan. 2,
prices start at $295 for a studio suite. From Jan. 3 to April 30,
prices for a studio start at $225.
