FORT LAUDERDALE -- Commissionable day trips to Key Largo, featuring a swim with dolphins, are offered daily by a 2-year-old sightseeing operator, Keys Adventure Tours.

A 16-passenger van operated by company owner John McNamara departs daily on the Dolphin Experience trip, making hotel pickups about 7:30 a.m. from the Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Miami areas.

Agents earn a flat $20 commission per client on rates of $199 per passenger for up to two persons; $169 each for groups of three or four, and $159 each for groups of five or more.

Clients who make the trip but choose not to swim pay $100 less, depending on group size.

The commission is $10 for each observer.

Included is a narration about sights encountered en route to Key Largo, a briefing on dolphins from a marine biologist and a choice of dolphin swims.

The first choice calls for a swim in a 100-by-50-yard man-made lagoon of seawater; the second, for a $10 surcharge, is a swim with trained dolphins accustomed to swimmers hanging on for a ride.

Participants are offered a choice of lunch at a Key Largo restaurant such as Snapper's or Mrs. Mac's Kitchen.

The final stops are John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, where mangrove hummocks, nature trails and an aquarium are explored, and the Shell Man souvenir outlet, where natural shells are sold.

Clients return to their hotels at about 6:30 p.m.
