Operator suspends Nassau service

MILLBURN, N.J. -- Nassau Paradise Island Express will suspend operations Feb. 23, and Continental will continue to provide daily service between Newark and Nassau.

Prokocimer Int'l Enterprises, the owner of the tour operation, said it will pay full refunds to all customers holding Nassau/Paradise Island Express tickets for departure from Newark Liberty Int'l Airport after Feb. 23.

Passengers with departure dates before the suspension were told they will receive return service through Continental Airlines.

Continental will continue the daily service between Newark and Nassau Int'l Airport that had been marketed by Nassau/Paradise Island Express, and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism said the operator's suspension of sales will "have no impact on airline service."

The tour operator did not explain why it suspended service, but said it planned to resume service in late spring.
