TORONTO--Travelers to Italy who want the culinary delights of a gourmet tour with the calorie-cutting benefits of an active vacation can have both on Butterfield & Robinson's Moveable Feast tour to Tuscany.

ristoranteThe six-night package, which departs Oct. 21 and Nov. 4 will be lead by Sarah Leah Chase, a cookbook author who is probably best known for co-writing the "Silver Palate Good Times Cookbook" and "Pedaling through Tuscany."

"The idea was to give a comprehensive experience, dipping into different regional cuisines and exposing people to diverse culinary programs," Chase said.

The tour was designed by Chase to begin and end in Florence, allowing participants exploration time before or after the tour, but with the major focus on the Tuscan countryside. "We head out into the Chianti region pretty quickly," she said.

The itinerary includes Lucca and Montepulciano, where Chase says the food is "much more exciting," and the Terme de Saturnia spa, where guests get a lesson on how to lighten the menu, then end with a pig roast."

The trip is priced at $3,975, with a single supplement of $1,050.
