NEW YORK -- Four of the most popular destinations in China --
Beijing, Xian, the Yangtze River and Shanghai --are offered in
Orient Flexi-Pax Tours' new 14-night Yangtze River Grandeur
tour.
The package begins in Beijing with visits to Tiananmen Square,
the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall and the Ming
Tombs.
In Xian, the tour visits the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses
excavation and the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang before traveling
on to Wuhan for a Yangtze River cruise aboard the President
Cruiser.
A smaller launch will take clients to see the Three Lesser
Gorges, followed by disembarkation in Fengdu for a tour.
The last stop of the cruise is Chongqing, from where passengers
fly to Guilin.
The tour ends in cosmopolitan Shanghai, where participants will
see the Yu Yuan Gardens in the Old City, the Jade Buddha Temple and
an evening performance of the Shanghai acrobats.
Prices for the tour range from $3,199 to $3,724 per person,
double, depending on dates and origin of departure.
The price includes roundtrip air from the U.S. via United
Airlines, all domestic transportation, daily sightseeing and
transfers, American buffet breakfasts daily, all lunches and
dinners in China (including a Peking duck banquet), accommodations
and a flight bag and document wallet.
One interesting aspect of the meal program is that the tour
includes four Western dinners. Travelers often report that even
relatively pedestrian Western fare such as french fries are the
object of intense cravings near the end of a trip to China.
