Orlando's Marriott Village sets soft opening; begins accepting bookings

ORLANDO -- The new Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan expects to hold a soft opening on Sept. 26, but at press time, only reservations for arrivals Oct. 31 and thereafter will be confirmed for either the 400-unit Springhill Suites or the 312-room Courtyard by Marriott.

Stays starting the night of Nov. 10 will be confirmed for the 388-room Fairfield Inn.

A nightly travel agent rate of $49, single or double, applies through Dec. 22, based on availability.

Unique to Marriott, these brands will be on a single site, offering leisure and business travelers "the ultimate in variety, convenience and value," the company said.

Marriott Village will feature a European-style food court; a 24-hour convenience store, and courtesy transportation to the Walt Disney World parks and Downtown Disney.

On site will be interactive water pools, business-friendly areas, a Kid's Club, a video emporium, a Hertz car rental desk, a fitness area and 5,000 square feet of meeting space.

"The Marriott Village offers a street-fair, neighborhood- block-party atmosphere for travelers from all over the world," said Barbara Schmaelzle, director of sales and marketing.

Little Lake Bryan is on state Route 535 near Interstate 4, not far from Lake Buena Vista and Downtown Disney. It is close to the Orlando Premium Outlets.
