the gay and lesbian community, partnered with Out & About, the
popular gay and lesbian travel newsletter and Web site.
Under the deal, Out & About becomes the exclusive provider
of travel reviews
for PlanetOut Travel.
Megan Smith, PlanetOut's chief executive officer, said that the
partnership enables her firm to provide the most comprehensive
information to a powerful segment of the travel market.
According to Smith, gays and lesbians in the U.S. spend billions
of dollars on travel annually.
The terms of the agreement call for Out & About to provide
110 Editor's Choice previews free of charge to PlanetOut members
through the travel section.
These previews include recommendations for lodging, dining,
nightlife and sightseeing.
PlanetOut's travel section already features destination and
hotel reviews, travel tips and event calendars.
Out & About has been a voice for gay travel since 1992,
attracting more than 50,000 readers and Web visitors, according to
