PATA Examines Relocation

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pacific Asia Travel Association board of directors moved forward with a proposal to move the group's headquarters from here to a "centrally located" Asian city.

During a meeting in Cairns, Australia, the PATA board invited member nations and Asian cities to send it a letter of interest based on relocation qualifications set by the Board.

The board will review the submissions during its next meeting, which will be held in conjunction with the March 29 PATA Annual Conference in Manila, the Philippines, according to PATA chief executive officer Joseph McInerney.
