PATA'S Cooke leaves his post

SAN FRANCISCO--The Pacific Asia Travel Association said that Milton Cooke, its director of the Americas and marketing, left the association.

PATA, which is relocating its marketing operations to its new Bangkok, Thailand, headquarters, said it will fill Cooke's position after the move at the end of September.

"The move takes place at the end of next month, and we'll probably be hiring somebody by the beginning of 1999," said Lyn Hikida, communications manager for PATA

Hikida, who will be promoted to the position of communications director after the move, said most high-level managers will remain in place.

Cooke said he will continue to consult for PATA on a short-term basis.
