Pacific Beach Hotel's new spa pays agents 10% on services

WAIKIKI, Hawaii -- The 831-room Pacific Beach Hotel here opened a 2,000-square-foot spa called the Hawaiian Rainforest Salon & Spa.

The spa, located on the hotel's fourth floor, is next to the pool deck and is open seven days a week.

Spa services are commissionable at 10%.

The spa has facilities such as saunas, steam saunas, acupressure whirlpools and locker rooms.

It offers body wraps, hydrotherapy, massages and facials, as well as hair, nail and waxing services.

Spa hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. From 7 p.m. to midnight, the spa is open for massages only.

Spas are becoming popular at Waikiki hotels as properties invest in their product.

The Hyatt Regency in Waikiki opened a new spa in April and even changed the name of the hotel to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is opening a spa in spring 2001 in the $95 million Kalia Tower, currently under construction, and the Royal Hawaiian hotel here plans to open a full-service spa by the end of the year.

The Royal Hawaiian is part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Luxury Collection. Guests at Starwood's three other hotels in Waikiki under its Sheraton brand will be able to use the spa.

Those hotels are the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, the Sheraton Moana Surfrider and the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani.
