RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico -- The 500-suite Paradisus Puerto Rico, the destination's first all-inclusive property, will "positively" open March 5 here, a 35-minute drive east of San Juan's airport, according to Jose Carrasco, managing director.

The Sol Melia resort originally was scheduled to open last month, right before Christmas. That date was pushed back when heavy rains delayed construction.

Even before its opening, the upscale resort has already been accepted into the Leading Hotels of the World collection.

Book through www.solmelia.com or (800) 336-3542.
