Park East Tours slates Africa packages

NEW YORK -- Park East Tours introduced two packages highlighting southern Africa.

The operator's 1999-2000 brochure features an 18-day Cape Town to Kenya package plus a 13-day Dunes and Delta trip that combines the deserts of Namibia with more watery locales in Botswana and Zimbabwe.

The operator's Cape Town to Kenya trip is a sampling of the attractions in three countries -- South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. The tour starts with several days in Cape Town and proceeds to Victoria Falls and Harare, capital of Zimbabwe. After that, the trip continues to Kenya, where guests stay at the Sweetwaters, Samburu and Masai Mara game parks. The trip concludes in Nairobi, where clients board the return flight to the U.S. via Amsterdam on KLM.

The cost of the trip begins at $6,995 per person, double, including air fare.

Meanwhile, the Dunes and Delta safari begins in Johannesburg and continues to Swakopmund, Namibia, home to herds of animals that have adapted to the unusual desert environment of the region. Namibia's famous towering sand dunes can be seen at Namid Naulkluft National Park; travelers will also spend time in Etosha National Park, known for elephant, lion, leopard, black rhino and a variety of antelope and birds. The trip also takes in Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

The price is $5,995 per person, double, including air fare.
