Park Service Takes Campsite Bookings

WASHINGTON -- The National Park Service began accepting telephone reservations for campsites at 25 national parks. The service signed a $12 million contract with Beltsville, Md.-based Biospherics earlier this year to operate the service.

It allows visitors to make campsite reservations for up to three months in advance by calling (800) 365-2267 or (800) 436-7275 (for Yosemite).

For tours of Mammoth Cave, Carlsbad and Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, the number is (800) 967-2283.

For international visitors, the number is (301) 722-1257.
