Parks set Sydney hotel shuttle service

SYDNEY, Australia -- Wonderland Sydney and the adjacent Australian Wildlife Park are now offering twice-a-day shuttle service from 71 hotels here.

The two attractions are about a 45-minute car or motorcoach drive from downtown Sydney.

Roundtrip rates are about $9 for adults and about $7.50 for children.

Reservations for the shuttle are required one day in advance (call 9830-9100 in Sydney).

The shuttle offers pickups at 40 hotels and major landmarks in the city starting at 7:20 a.m.

Starting at 12:20 p.m., the shuttle picks up at three hotels and two downtown landmarks.

Wonderland Sydney is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The theme park offers seven themed areas known as "magical places," such as Hanna Barbera Land where "Hanna Barbera cartoon characters including Yogi Bear and Fred Flintstone come to life and welcome you with a big hug," according to the company's Web site.

The park also has four thrill rides as well as a number of rides for smaller children.

The park also features shows such as "Millennium Magic," performed daily in the Galaxy Theatre.

Admission to Wonderland Sydney is about $22 for guests ages 14 and older and $15 for children ages 4 to 13 and seniors.

The Australian Wildlife Park is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The park features more than 500 animals and birds from Australia including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats and goannas.

It also has a number of animal shows and demonstrations such as "Koala Lifestyles," the "Freshwater Crocodile Show," the "Manic Crocodile Show," a penguin-feeding demonstration and the "Outback Woolshed Show," which features sheepdog displays.

Admission is about $7.50 for guests ages 14 and older and $4.50 for kids ages 3 to 14.
