Passenger killed in shore excursion accident

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A female passenger aboard Orient Lines' Marco Polo was killed in a snowmobiling accident July 24 during a shore excursion on the Langjokull Glacier near Reykjavik, Iceland.

The 66-year-old passenger was participating in an optional snowmobiling tour offered as part of the shore excursion, said an Orient Lines spokesman.

Local police are investigating the accident and the passenger's family has been notified. Marco Polo was in the midst of a 14-day Fjords & Iceland cruise slated to end in Copenhagen on July 31.
