Peter Island Resort plans $3.2M room refit

PETER ISLAND, British Virgin Islands -- The 52-room Peter Island Resort is planning a $3.2 million enhancement that features a redesign of 20 beachfront rooms.

The three-month project begins Aug. 15, when the resort closes for its annual sprucing up.

Each beachfront suite's makeover is priced at approximately $155,000 and includes a new, open floor plan; central air conditioning; large windows and doors, and a new color scheme.

A double-headed shower with a Jacuzzi tub bordered by tile frescoes will replace the atrium-style bathroom in each unit.

New menus and restaurant facilities were added to the food operation last fall.

Lunch and dinner menus with a Mediterranean theme along with new china, linens, lighting and color schemes were added. The interiors of the harbor rooms were refurbished.

Peter Island will reopen for the winter season Nov. 15, following completion of the beachfront room upgrade.
