WEST LAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Pleasant Holidays is expanding its
offerings in the area where it sees the most potential growth --
Hawaii's luxury market -- and honeymoon/romance packages will lead
the way in this new focus.
"We've always offered a luxury product but want to give it more
marketing attention," said Tim Irwin, president and chief executive
of Pleasant Holidays.
Nineteen resorts on the five major islands are represented in
the luxury collection. Among them are the JW Marriott Ihilani
Resort & Spa at Koolina; the Royal Hawaiian; Hilton Hawaiian
Village; Four Seasons Wailea; Ritz-Carlton Kapalua; Mauna Kea Beach
Hotel; and Fairmont Orchid Hawaii.
In other news, the wholesaler has launched an online version of
its Pleasant Holidays University Course. Agents can sign up on line
for the complete program.
The curriculum consists of six 16-page training courses designed
to increase agent knowledge of Pleasant's travel products as well
as improve customer service and selling skills.
Meanwhile, the operator added more Web options. Working with
VisualFrenzy Media, Pleasant Holidays is providing travel agents
and their clients with streaming video clips of Pleasant's partner
hotels and resorts.
Participating partners include selected Marriott, Outrigger,
Ohana, Prince and Aston Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii.
