Pleasant introduces line for 2001

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Pleasant Mexico Holidays, based here, introduced its 2001 product line to Mexico.

The firm's programs are detailed in a 47-page brochure that is being distributed to travel agencies nationwide.

The brochure contains details on 93 hotels and condominiums in eight Mexican beach destinations: Acapulco, Cancun/Costa Maya, Cozumel, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

Karen Schulz Hughes, Pleasant's vice president of marketing and product development, said the firm's 2001 Mexico product "offers many more options."

She described the brochure as a "sales tool designed to help agents more easily counsel their Mexico customers."

For 2001, Hughes said that Pleasant will continue its car rental program with Dollar Rent A Car for visitors traveling to Cancun/Costa Maya, Cozumel, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta.

As of next year, customers will be able to pick up their rental cars at the airport or in town, and Dollar will include the popular Volkswagen Beetle convertible in its rental fleet.

In an effort to make the brochure more user-friendly, Pleasant used icons to distinguish luxury properties for upscale clients, condominiums for couples or families traveling together, resorts that have special children's facilities, inclusive properties and resorts that offer spa facilities and honeymoon packages. The last two options are new for 2001.

Pleasant also is offering packages that combine trips to Cancun and Cozumel.

Pleasant's airline partners next year are Aeromexico, Alaska, American Trans Air, Delta and TWA. Fares are available in economy, business and first class.
