Pointe Hilton's golf program adds video instruction, plans

PHOENIX -- Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort here enhanced its golf program with a new video system for instruction and flexible vacation packages.

"One of the first things a student looks for in selecting a golf school is whether they offer video instruction," said Jerramy Hainline, director of instruction.

The new Swing Solutions digital video-recording system allows frame-by-frame interactive analysis of a golfer's swing.

Each student receives a 90-minute video session that includes analysis, evaluation and on-range corrective instruction.

A digital photo booklet analyzing the student's swing is e-mailed to the guest with specific comments from the instructor.

The Pointe Hilton Golf Academy, based at the resort's Lookout Mountain Golf Club, is offering a variety of flexible golf packages.

These include the Refresher, a three-night package; the two-night Weekender plan, and a six-night Academy program.

Each plan includes suite accommodations at the hotel, daily breakfast and lunch, personalized instruction daily, video analysis with take-home video and a Bobby Jones golf sweater.

Through March 1, rates are $1,569 per person, double, for the Academy; $1,129 for the Refresher, and $769 for the Weekender.

From March 2 through April 19, rates are $1,649 for the Academy, $1,499 for the Refresher and $779 for the Weekender.

The resort pays 10% commission based on room cost only.
