Polaris Park a place for playtime

TRUCKEE, Calif. -- One of the highlights at the Northstar-at-Tahoe ski resort here is Polaris Park, an adventure and amusement center.

The park is open from 3 p.m to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays as well as during holiday periods and includes well-lit play areas, two tubing lanes, toys and the Zorb, a plastic sphere in which passengers literally take a spin.

The Hike Till You Hurt pass costs $6; the $12 Access Pass covers tube rental, and the $18 Almighty Super Duper Pass allows access to all activities.

A ride in the Zorb costs $20.
