NASSAU -- Hotels are gearing up for the winter season with quick
getaways, millennium bashes and new facilities.
A sampling of offerings follows:The British Colonial Hilton in Nassau, which opens this month,
is offering a free stay.
The 77-year-old hotel is tracing its heritage and giving a free
night to guests who can provide memorabilia such as hotel bills,

Treasures program, added 21 guest rooms. The Grand Bahama Island

a superior room and $200 for a deluxe room. The rate is valid from
Dec. 29 to Jan. 3, and a three-day minimum is required.
Pelican BayThe Flamingo Bay Hotel & Ritz Resort on Grand Bahama Island
claims to have opened the largest swimming pool in the Caribbean.
The pool is 23,000 square feet and contains 720,000 gallons of
fresh water. The pool boasts a children's walk-in section, a lap
area, a swim-up bar, a 20-person Jacuzzi, three caves, fountains
and an island in the center.

Flamingo Bay Hotel & Ritz ResortThe Stella Maris Resort Club on Long Island created a weekend
package that includes the price of the marriage license. Package
components include the services of an officiant, a bouquet and
boutonniere, a bottle of champagne and wedding dinner and cake for
the bride and groom.

The wedding arrangements cost $300. The resort's seven-night
honeymoon plan is priced at $1,299 per couple through Dec. 19. The
honeymoon rate also covers a car rental for one day, scuba diving
for one day, skiff fishing for one day and resort activities.
Stella Maris Resort ClubClub Viva Fortuna on Grand Bahama Island is offering a nightly
rate of $120 per person, double, through Jan. 31 (excluding
Christmas and New Year's weeks).

From Feb. 1 to April 22, rates at the inclusive resort start at
$160. For families, children under age 7 stay and eat free when
sharing a room with a paying adult. There is a 50% discount for
children age 7 to 16 when sharing a room with two adults.
The resort is also offering a 30% discount off millennium rates.
A seven-night minimum stay is required for the discount.
Viva ResortsGogo is offering Supersaver rates (inclusive and EP) to the
Radisson Cable Beach Resort in Nassau from cities throughout the

For example, a three-night inclusive plan from Boston starts at

From Los Angeles, a three-night EP plan starts at $729 per
